You are required to make payments of at least one lesson in advance.
Payment may be made by cash or cheque (cheque guarantee card required) or via our on-line shop with PayPal using your Credit/Debit card, you do not need a PayPal account and this is subject to a 3.56% + 20p surcharge for lessons or vouchers and does not apply to other Products or Accessories, please contact us or ask your instructor should you require further information.
Products and Accessories are subject to packing and postage charges at the current applicable rates and are shown along with each items price.
All cheque´s should be made payable to Happy Learner Limited.
Cheque´s that fail to clear our bank account will incur a £25.00 administration fee.
You must hold a current valid licence (either provisional or full) which must be produced on the first lesson. You must also be able to read a number plate from a distance 20.5 metres (67 feet) using your glasses if normally worn.
You must immediately notify your Instructor of any changes to your ability or entitlement to have driving tuition, for example, loss of a valid provisional driving licence, or medical reasons.
You are not to take lessons under the influence of alcohol or drugs, the instructor will stop the lesson if he or she suspects that you are not fit to drive. The full lesson fee will still be chargeable.
If after arriving at your nominated pick up point for your lesson there is no reply at the address in question, your instructor will wait approximately 10 minutes. If after 10 minutes, you have not made contact or we are unable to contact you, the lesson will be abandoned and you will be required to pay the full lesson fee.
Your Instructor will endeavour to attend all lessons on time, but may have to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances, such as breakdown. In this instance your instructor will let you know as soon as possible and you will not be charged for the lesson.
Lessons may only be cancelled with at least 48 hours notice given to HLL or your instructor. Failure to give at least 48 hours notice will result in the full fee being charged for the lesson, regardless of reason. 10 days notice must be given for cancellation of intensive courses and driving tests. Failure to comply with this condition will result in the full relevant fee becoming due to your instructor.
Your appointment card is also your receipt and must be brought along to every lesson.
Your driving instructor will by default pick you up at the start of your lesson and drop you off at the end, at your home address. If you require pick up and drop off at a different location (within reasonable distance) you must let your instructor know in advance.
All lessons must be completed within 6 months of booking.
Pupils may only use one of our tuition vehicles for a test when he/she has met the required standard, this should be discussed with your instructor. Hire of a HLL driving tuition car for your test is strictly at the discretion of your instructor, whose decision is final.
No responsibility will be taken by HLL for tests cancelled by the DSA due to bad weather, sickness or staff shortages etc and HLL will charge for test time. You may be able to claim out of pocket expenses but this must be pursued via the DSA.
Your instructor cannot take responsibility for you losing your documentation or failing an eyesight test. Your instructor will take responsibility if the test is cancelled due to failure of the tuition vehicle. In the event of mechanical breakdown HLL will endeavour to provide a similar vehicle for the day of the test.
Tuition vehicles are fully registered, maintained to the relevant standards and fully insured for tuition and driving tests with a reputable insurer, the relevant certificate of insurance will be made available for inspection upon request.
