Welcome to the Happy Learner Instructor Training Course.

By now you have probably found several training establishments and not sure which to choose. Well at Happy Learner we like to do things a little different from most training establishments.

We offer everyone a complete free trial before you commit (see below). We will take you out and give you a real taste of what's involved in becoming an instructor. We explain how your training will be conducted and give you a chance to meet your trainer and ask any questions you have before parting with any money. There will be no hard sell tactics and you will be given the chance to take part in a lesson.

We have two flexible ways to pay for your training. We also offer everyone that completes their training, and qualifies as a Driving Instructor a position at our driving school.

Free assessment

At Happy Learner we would like you to meet your trainer before you commit to training with us. We arrange a totally free assessment to give you a chance to meet your trainer. They will be able to answer any questions you have.

ON THE ASSESSMENT

• We will assess your standard of driving.
• We will show you how to start a lesson.
• We will show you how to brief a pupil on a given subject.
• We will show you how to put the briefing into practice.
• Then you will be given the chance to take part in the lesson yourself.

We would like to stress there is no obligation, or hard sell tactics on you after the assessment. It is purely for you to try out before committing yourself. We would rather you find out at an early stage that perhaps this career is not for you. On the other hand you may as many do can't wait to get started.

We will send you a printed report of your assessment, so at worst we might make you a better driver for free.

To book your assessment all you need to do is contact us. We will meet you at home or work, for your discretion the car we arrive in has no signs on so if you want to keep what you are doing quiet no one will know.

The Driving Standards Agency set legal requirements you must meet to become an Approved Driving Instructor.

You must hold a full UK or European Union car driving licence for a total of at least four out of the past six years prior to entering the register after qualifying.

You should be a fit and proper person to have your name entered on the register. All convictions, including motoring offences, will be taken into account you will be subject to full police check to assess your suitability to be entered on the register.

You must be able to read a vehicle number plate from a distance of 27.5m(90ft)

Pass the register qualifying examinations and register within 12 months of doing so.

You must pass the three qualifying exams within a two-year period.
